Peace and Security Policy

Peace is more than the absence of war. Sustainable peace needs to be cultivated throughout the conflict cycle, from early warning to conflict transition. Applying the concept of human security, our work encourages a holistic and integrated approach to preventing destructive conflict and building peace. To this end, we work with UN entities, Member States and civil society actors to put the spotlight on the connections between peace, development and human rights.
