The main working language inside FES Geneva office is basically German. Very good written and oral communication skills in German are therefore strongly desired. BUT, since our working language outside FES Geneva office is English, excellent knowledge of English constitutes a sine qua non.

Internships

We accepte applications for internships for 2027.

We offer / Your role will involve:

  • A varied role within a small team,
  • Research into current issues within FES Geneva’s areas of work: trade and development, human rights, good work and social policy,
  • Organising and running conferences, seminars and training sessions on the above topics,
  • Administrative office tasks,
  • For a period of at least 3 months.

From now on, FES Geneva can unfortunately only offer internships to those whose university degree requires a compulsory internship. Students whose degree and regulations do not require a compulsory internship are therefore no longer able to undertake an internship with us. The duration of your placement with us may not exceed the duration of the compulsory placement required by your course.

For placements of four weeks or longer, a taxable allowance of €500.00 per month is generally paid for full-time placements. Additional expenses such as flight costs, visa fees, etc. are not covered by the FES. These costs, as well as the costs of international health, liability and accident insurance, must be borne by the interns themselves.

You should have:

  • An interest in the work of international organisations in Geneva and relevant prior knowledge,
  • A degree in political science, social sciences and/or economics (Master’s programme, completed Bachelor’s degree),
  • Excellent German and English. Knowledge of French and other foreign languages is an advantage,
  • Proficiency in using computers,
  • Commitment to social and political issues,
  • Team spirit, commitment and a willingness to learn.
