eTrade for Women Members at the UNCTAD eWeek 2023 12/03/2023 23:00 to 12/07/2023 23:00 - Geneva, Switzerland Terminexport im ICS-Format Although digitalization is opening many opportunities for businesses, including in developing countries, women remain heavily under-represented in the digital economy. Women digital entrepreneurs face many obstacles related to socio-cultural norms and traditional gender roles, limited supportive networks, unequal access to capital, as well as poor representation and participation in decision-making processes. While the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the digitalization of the economy, it has also made it more urgent to address existing gender inequalities and to close the digital gender gap. To help overcome these obstacles and to influence policy decision-making accordingly, FES and UNCTAD joined forces to enable 14 women from all parts of the world to participate and to raise their voices at this year’s UNCTAD eWeek.
