Regional Consultation: Driving Responsible Investment and Business to Build Sustainable Peace

The Working Group is mandated by the Human Rights Council to promote the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the globally recognized framework on the respective duties and responsibilities of governments and business enterprises to prevent and address business-related human rights impacts.

The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung’s offices in Geneva and Abidjan supported the consultation in Côte d’Ivoire where questions of business-related human rights risks and impacts in fragile contexts and countries emerging from conflict, and the connection between business and human rights and conflict prevention and peacebuilding were addressed.

The UNWG report on business, human rights and conflict-affected regions is now available (see link below). The report will be officially presented at the General Assembly later this fall (dates to be confirmed).
