How can Climate Actions Respect Rights and Contribute to Peacebuilding in the Transition to a Green Economy?

This session, organised jointly by FES Geneva, the Quaker United Nations Office, the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre and OHCHR, focuses on how companies can ensure their climate actions respect human rights and benefit from the transformative potential of the transition to a green economy. The session is part of the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights and will unpack the concept of a green economy, explore the concept of a just transition away from fossil fuels in a way that respects the rights of workers and communities, and address how we can support a model of renewable energy that contributes to peacebuilding, provides decent jobs throughout its supply chain, and respects the rights of indigenous communities.
