Digital Trade in the African Context

How digital trade can empower African economies and workers.

This session explored how digital trade can empower African economies and workers by examining its potential to address employment challenges, enhance workforce skills, and bridge the digital divide. In particular, the session reviewed the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocoll, analysing its implications for trade unions and workers. The outcomes inform actionable strategies for trade unions to advocate for policies that align digital trade with sustainable development, human rights, and decent work agendas.
