Launch Event: Spotlight Report on Global Migration 2026

The SRGM26 examines progress and emerging issues for migrants from a human rights perspective and will be launched on the 4th of March.

The Spotlight Report on Global Migration 2026 (SRGM26) was prepared to coincide with the second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) held in New York from 5 to 8 May 2026. The second comprehensive global review of the implementation of the United Nations Global Compact for Migration (GCM) is a key moment for states to take account of their commitments towards the implementation of the GCM.

The SRGM26 is a joint effort of Women in Migration Network (WIMN) and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES). It builds on the first Spotlight Report, published in 2022, and aims to uphold and strengthen human rights for migrants. The report addresses six key issues in the context of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration: Regular pathways; Care economy; Climate crisis; Regularization; Criminalization and the Digital World. The resulting recommendations will be discussed during the virtual event on the 4th of March.
