Networked Production in Global Value Chains – Implications for Trade Unions

This event focused on how new forms of “networked production”, intertwining manufacturing and services, shape value creation and appropriation in today’s economy.

How does it affect the ways work is being organised? What consequences do these developments have on trade unions and how can unions respond organisationally? These and other questions were discussed based on the presentation by Professor Jörg Sydow, expert of management and inter-firm cooperation at the Free University of Berlin, Germany.
