Global Progressive Mobilisation Summit 2026

On 17-18 April 2026, progressive voices from politics, academia, and civil society from across the world gather in Barcelona for the inaugural Global Progressive Mobilisation (GPM) – a two-day summit aimed at strengthening international cooperation among progressive forces.

The event brings together participants from more than 40 countries, including heads of government, policymakers, civil society organisations, trade unions, and grassroots movements. The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is helping shape the conference programme, will have experts on site, and will be engaging in strategic discussions. 

The summit comes at a critical moment in global politics, as progressive actors seek to respond to rising inequality, climate challenges, and the growing influence of far-right movements. Through a series of plenary sessions, panels, and workshops, participants will exchange ideas, align strategies, and build partnerships to advance democracy, social justice, and sustainable development. Its goal is clear: to demonstrate that collaborative, forward-looking solutions can deliver prosperity, fairness, and resilience in an increasingly complex world.
