Launch: How Africa Eats – Trade, Food Security and Climate Risks

Join us for the Book Launch & Panel Discussion: How Africa Eats – Trade, Food Security and Climate Risks

Join us for the launch of “How Africa Eats”, edited by Prof. David Luke, hosted by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Geneva in collaboration with the LSE Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa. The book explores Africa’s food systems, trade dimensions, and the reforms needed to achieve sustainable and resilient food security.

Building on Luke’s earlier work “How Africa Trades”, this event will highlight how food systems connect to trade rules and economic transformation, while addressing urgent challenges such as climate change, market shocks, and structural import dependence. The discussion will spotlight African expertise and policy perspectives, offering concrete recommendations for a more equitable and sustainable future.

The event will take place on 13 November 2025 at Hotel Royal, Rue de Lausanne 41, 1201 Geneva, from 18:00 to 19:30, followed by a networking reception.
