4th TUTT: WTO Reform After Yaoundé: Implications for African Workers

The 4th TUTT session looked at the WTO after its Ministerial Conference.

This session examined the Ministerial Conference outcomes and political directions on WTO institutional reform, including commitments to update WTO rules, advance discussions on restoring and reforming the dispute settlement system, improve transparency and decision-making, and address emerging issues such as sustainability, digital trade, development flexibilities, and agriculture.

The Trade Union Trade Talks (TUTT) is a joint initiative of FES Geneva and the Africa Labour Research and Education Institute (ALREI) of ITUC-Africa. This series provides a dynamic space for trade unions, policymakers, researchers, international organizations, and media to exchange knowledge and shape the conversation on trade policies that affect African workers, particularly in the context of the the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
